The baby probably has a gender neutral name. The military is failing us.

Why are any pregnant women on a goddamn ship during a deployment?

"While it would have been preferred to send her to her homeport earlier, per policy, we are now focused on caring for the health and welfare of our sailor and the newest member of our Navy family," Urban said. "We are working a plan to move them to a shore-based hospital as soon as possible."
Is what he should have said...

The SecNav has likely been ordered to give her a fricking medal for bravery

There are probably 200 guys on that ship thinking "frick I hope it's not mine".

And the USS Eisenhower was engaged in an active operation against ISIS during the birth.

Teenage guys and girls stuck on deployment, the sex happens. But how it went unnoticed is odd.
This is a very good series to watch if you want a glimpse into what life on a carrier is like.

Posted on 9/13/16 at 12:42 pm to jbgleason

Saw one of these docs from the early 90's. They interviewed some poor bastard scrubbing toilets. He said, "I've only made 2 mistakes in my life. One was signing up for the navy, the other was signing up for 6 years."

This series is an actual camera crew that goes on deployment with them, it's unfettered access. Some messed up stories happen.
