excellent post on this board with Gordy breaking it down.
how the hell do they look good when 1. the defense knows what the hell we're doing 90% of the time, and 2. we don't run away from the strength of the D, we run to it.
you try blocking when everyone knows what's up.
miles, for whatever reason, wants to let the other team know what we're doing and dare them to stop us. he must have a jones for the thrill this gives him, seeing his boys being so tough to pull out games by just overpowering the opponent against big odds.
maybe it's a fetish, that he can't help.

They were awful as a unit. I know play calling doesn't help but, the whole line was an epic failure last week

stupid people will downvote you but you are correct.
its very difficult to block someone when they know what you are doing.

No, you're wrong. The oline was terrible. They were average, at best, in the running game, and they were terrible in pass protection.

I agree.
Miles is digging his own grave. I think the team realized it last weekend.
Stubborn old man needs to resign.

That was the worst OL performance for an LSU team in a decade.

Oh really? What did Wisc do on this play that was so confusing to the OL? Was it the "Ole 5 Defensive Player Run Staight Into the OL" trick play?
Please, help us stoopid people out, you genius.

Hell it all come down to coaching and every years I hear our line is the strength of football team. How come bama line is good every years and they have turnover too

Yes, they really are. I'm not saying they're not talented, but the OL is the weakest part of our team right now.
I blame Les, Grimes, etc.

2 things - yes, we certainly missed some plays. Malone out of position and boutte doesn't seem to get it. always some mistakes.
2. Wisconsin's front 7 is pretty good, forcing some of the errors.
so, knowing they aren't going to play perfectly, you can still acknowledge that as a unit they are severely handicapped by the offensive coaching.
does anyone disagree 1. that Brandon should be in the shotgun/pistol more often? I would point out to Les that you can still use a fullback in this formation. see Kansas State.
2. that we have to let our qb run?
3. even if we don't run a true spread, we can do more to utilize our speed.
4. who honestly doesn't believe that we run into the strength of the D most of the time?

You are 100% correct but you are going to downvoted to holy hell.
The average joe has no idea how much just the two above factors put the o line in a position to fail. I used to coach o-line at the high school level but its not worth the time and energy it would take to try and explain to the masses on here.

They may not be this bad all season, but they were awful Saturday.

Horse shite excuse. They let free defenders run right past them. They weren't getting out schemed, they just weren't doing anything.
Bad.
Bad.
Bad.
Bad, but terribly designed play too.
fricking awful.
Bad.
Bad.
Bad.
Bad.
Bad.
So bad that I can't stop watching it.
11 plays out of 50 and I only looked at 2 rushing attempts. It was pathetic.

They stunk period. At this point in the season this is worst line Miles has had in his LSU career. You can call what ever you want if they can't block it and it gets blown up because they don't know who to block doesn't mean it's on play calling. It's just the easy way to analyze it. Now the coaches are responsible for making sure they the right group on the field and recruiting the right mix of guards to actual tackles. What I saw Saturday was not play calling it was individuals blowing assignments are flat out not knowing how the hell to block. Once again that to me is on coaching.

I'm at the point now where it is honestly comical how goofy they looked Saturday. I don't know how else to handle it.

O- LINE was complete hot garbage Saturday.

No the were horrific along with the TEs blocking. This wasn't, oh they are trying to block too many people, they were seriously confused on who to block at all. Many times these guys were left standing around blocking nobody and you have 8-9 guys coming to rush your RB or QB.
The screen pass I was in shock when I watched it live and gif form makes it so much worse. Not one guy blocked anybody on that screen. Fournette should of had a first down and probably even more.
This is why a say it's a miracle that Fournette got as much as he does during a game. There was someone in Harris's face as a free runner on pretty much every time he dropped back.
