The year they won the playoffs they lost to Virginia Tech early in the season. A team that iirc, didn't even make a bowl. This loss want nearly as bad as that. Was on the road, and beginning of the year when coaches are still figuring stuff out. I'm not saying I support led an would be perfectly fine if they shitcanned his arse at the END of the season, but we've got enough talent on this team to overcome some of his mental lapses this year, that if we keep it together and don't blow the whole thing up mid season by firing him we might still have a shot at the playoffs. This is one of his best teams ever and he has been able to not frick up in the past. If we can just get through the sec I feel like we can take whoever we face by the end of the year in the playoffs. Keep your heads up boys!

The difference is we don't have Urban Meyer as a head coach.

Florida lost to Ole Miss and went undefeated too. All we need is Tebow and Urban Meyer and we're set!

And Tom Herman at OC.

Like really, think about it. Urban and Herman or Les and Cam. You have to run the table. Keeping in mind tOSU plays in the B1G and doesn't have to play Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida and other big powers every single year.

So yeah, apples and oranges.

You do realize that Tom Herman was the behind the scenes to that team, right?

Do you understand why we want him as our coach now?

They also had Urban Meyer. A QB genius and a great offensive mind.

Miles not so much.

the season is certainly not over

if you're going to lose, this was a great time to lose

now the effort didn't inspire much confidence that the teams will rebound play better, but I guess it could happen

How many serviceable QBs did Herman and Meyer have that year?

That team had Urban Meyer, Tom Herman and may go down as the most purely talented team in Big 10 history.

And you're pretty damn blind to the differences between them then and LSU now.

We still are lost on offense.

And our coach still doesn't ever make adjustments..

Not likely to run the table with his current mindset.

Heck, we can't help but lose 3 games every November now..

This time she won't pull that ball away. You're dumber than Elmer J. Fudd (Lester J. Miles) if you really believe any of that crap.

You're not wrong. However, Les has proven he refuses to change the course that has costs him games over the last several seasons.

The offense/QB struggled in Nov. of 2015 nearly costing him his job. After being saved at the last minute, the thought by some (many?) was last season was going to be the ultimate wakeup call that things HAD to change (at least to some degree). After 8 months of hype and mostly positive events, Les comes out with a national championship caliber group and implements the EXACT SAME APPROACH that nearly got him fired 8 months ago. It is as if LSU picked up right where they left off after the Ole Miss game. The offense was horrible. Special teams were horrible. NOTHING CHANGED!

So yes, LSU's hopes for a conf. champ or playoff appearance aren't technically dashed. However, is there any reason to think Les will make the necessary changes to do everything he can to avoid a second loss?

Yes but this has a way different feel to it. I really think everyone has lost patience and confidence that the offensive coaches know what the hell they are doing. If the players start feeling that way it's going to get ugly.
