He was gone last year if he didn't beat A&M. He will be gone this year if they team continues to look this bad (and there's no reason to think it won't). It doesn't matter what it costs, money will be found if they lose four or five games.
Exactly, the money was in place last year. Its not like the state is paying this money its all privately funded. His buyout is much less this year. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 million. Now even the most diehard posi-tigers are turning on him. I consider myself among them. Last year I was 50/50 on making a move. I was ok with either direction they had went I just didn't like the way the whole thing was done. Now I am 100% convinced that a change must be made. The program has become stale and the message is now silent to the team. I love Les and how he has ran the program but the game has past him by.

Bruh. Alleva had Les fired and Jimbo hired last year and it got squashed in the final hour. You don't know what you're talking about.
And their reason last year of it being too expensive and a image problem will not have changed because of new contracts this year and next year. If money was the reason, then that hasn't changed. Short of Les showing some ounce of caring about LSU and its well-being by resigning and forsaking the rest of his contract, this team will be shackled.
Les isn't a guy that puts LSU first, and people need to accept that. This is what happens when you accept to pay someone that kind of money when they are inept at major parts of their job and too arrogant to admit their methods aren't working.

LSU is actually now going to be a less enticing job for others out there.
This couldn't be more wrong.
If, I'm not saying we will lose but if we lose the JSU game, he's done. And come November, if he's here, that should be it, given what we all saw yesterday.
If he has the team run the table, then I'll eat crow happily but I don't see that happening.
He was not motivated at all to change after almost losing his job last season, that's pretty evident.
The radio call in show should be interesting this week. People have had it with him on Saturdays.
Les Miles, the person, a gem. One of the best.
Les Miles the coach.... I'm out of patience.

There will be a lot of season ticket holders not renew if he is back next season.

The buyout is manageable this year believe it or not. It wasn't really even as bad as they made it seem last year. But whoever writes the checks was willing to pay it. They will do the same this year if this continues.

Les' buyout dropped $2 Million this year from $15 million to $12.9 Million until January 1st, 2018.
Orgeron, Grimes, and Aranda don't have the Miles clause in them. Any of those buyouts (Grimes needs to go too) would now be significantly higher than last year, and if the new coach didn't want Aranda as his DC or someone like Coach O, no matter how crazy that may seem, the overall buyout will now be even higher than last year. Think about that.
So the reasons haven't changed, and while I've seen a ton of people that have season tickets claim they won't go to games, I didn't see many of them stating they'd be willing to give up their season tickets and get back in line to get them when the new guy is hired.
LSU will still get the money from ticket sales and enough people will go to the games, so thinking it will happen guaranteed is a bit naive.

Maybe the administration should do what Miles did to other coaches he didn't fire mid season. Just take away all their duties and don't let them near the team

Whatever!!quit drinking!!he is gone at the end of the season!!

It's $2.1 million cheaper than last year and still nearly $13 million just to fire Les until January 2018. So no, I don't think the drop of $2 million which is countered by his assistants new buyouts is making this "manageable".

King will not step in this time. Les better win the sec if he wants to stay the HC.

LSU will be less talented next year, than this year's team which literally is set up for an NC run talent/experience-wise.
You returned something like 18-22 starters this season and even if you lost a handful of early entries, you still had 14+ returning starters worst case.
Next year LSU will be replacing:
White
Beckwith
Godchaux
LaCouture
Neal
Adams
Jefferson
Pocic
Dupre
Dural
Fournette
Delahoussaye
So, please tell me how LSU will be set up better next year? It was a dream set up this year.

Wow. Just. Wow. Where do you people come from? 4 more years of Les Miles? Don't bet on it!

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin — If you are keeping score at home, the buyout for LSU football coach Les Miles’ contract — should it be postdated to Dec.31 — would be only $6.4 million if he is fired this season. And that could decrease more by what he makes in his next job should he want to coach again.
quote:
His buyout was not $15 million last year by November when the firing movement began. It was $15 million had he been fired on Jan. 1, 2015. It was decreasing by his salary, which is $4.3 million, as the year went on. Had Miles been fired postdated to Dec.31, 2015, his buyout would have been $15 million minus his salary of $4.3 million, according to his contract. That would have been a $10.7 million buyout. That minus his $4.3 million salary would be $6.4 this Dec. 31.
At least know your facts before throwing bullsh*t out there. You look stupid right now.

Your an idiot!
If LSU loses 2-3 more games before November Les will be gone possibly mid-season. At the latest end of the season.
BTW it won't hurt recruiting if we get Jumbo, Tom because players know they are bad mofos!!

F. King Alexander will lose his job before he's allowed to interfere in LSU football again. Book it.

Well that is a relief. For a second there i thought we could lose him to another program. (please)

They have a shite load of players who were brought in the last 2 classes who are very talented. And the 2017 class is littered with studs even if they keep half of them I don't think the cubbard will be empty
