Will we see the resurgence of the Mad Hatter in 2016?

We all know and remember well that when Les is confident in his team, he is ballsy. 4th downs vs UF, Byrd TD vs AU, etc..The general consensus on TD seems to be he has tempered that, to an extent.

This year is a high expectation year coming off of a failed coup.

I hope we see him whip his balls out and lay em on the table this year, win or lose. Because that's what I think about when I think about good LSU teams. Fearlessness starting with the HC, and the shite was contagious.

I think we might.

I don't have a good reason for it, it's just sorta in his demeanor. Feels like he's got a spark.

Hopefully the only game we may need this is against BAMA.

The law of averages have just caught up to Les the last few years. He went bananas with 4th downs and trick plays the first few years, but hasn't had nearly the luck since.

He went for it on fourth down so many times against Florida because he had the weaker team an could not afford to give the ball back to Tebow.

BTW, did you see the fake field goal vs Florida last year? The Mad Hatter hasn't gone anywhere.

Oh, and "general consensus" is redundant. A consensus is always general.

Remember the magic from 2007 and 2011? I sure hope it's back! I saw guts and balls all over the place. I saw a hungry defense that was all in. I miss that. It's on!!

Miles lost confidence in his offensive staff after 1/8/12 and has gone into a bit of a shell. He wants to go back to his roots with Schembechler football because that's what he trusts. He is thus micromanaging. So no, outside of the traditional fake kick against Florida, I'm not expecting any real changes.

If we see passing to the Rb's, an effective short passing game and a turnaround in Special Teams, I will eat my words. But until then, we won't see the Hatter.

Les is not going to change a single thing. Why should he?

we went through periods of not even being able to get the snap off, even after a time out, w/o getting penalized. that would wreck anyone's confidence. if this offense begins to gel I think the Mad Hatter will return indeed!

Yes, his offensive philosophy is absolutely maddening. Thus, the Mad Hatter...

His "ballsy" calls were running it straight up the middle Jacob Hester on 4th down.

The only thing truly risky he ever did was run fake field goals.

I've always felt like he gets undue credit for this. Those weren't risky, take a chance plays. They were the only options at the time. The Byrd pass, there was plenty of time to take a shot and kick the FG, they just took forever to execute that snap.

The real Miles game plan is to try to keep the game close and win with the ball at the end. He's found that ain't gonna work against Bama. Let's see if he can figure out how to make an adjustment.
