There is no GOAT book. But, I find myself rereading The Old Man and the Sea and The Glory of Their Times repeatedly. Neither of those two are worthy of mention as GOAT, but I enjoy them.

Old man and the sea is terrible. A whole book that could have been condensed into 2 pages

Anything that's philosophical, or about self improvement, the mind, metaphysics, psychology.

I believe that book has a prominent place on Acreboy's bookshelf.

Rocket Boys, and it really isn't close either. Great book.

The greatest American novel is The Sound and the Fury, while the greatest book of the Americas is 100 years of solitude.

I thought so too, when I was in high school. But, there is something about it. Like I stated, it's not worthy of GOAT, but it kinda snuck up on me for the last decade. Something about it.

I probably enjoyed Catch 22 more than any other novel.

Nothing since that book came out in 1985 has sniffed its brilliance.
In fact, I think the final passage of that novel is the greatest closing of any book in American history.

I think The Fountainhead is a better read.
