How the hell does anyone know 8 people who aren't working or doing their own house?

Yeah, would love to have a crew. My brother and I knocked it out in 2 days though, including floors. My entire body hurts.

sqft. 1000sqft house would be 1,750.00. Basically that type of formula. That will also include the flooring, cabinets, shower/tub enclosures and so on.

Willing to take the risk of the water to wick up above 4 ft or to the ceiling and attic, create mold, and create a much larger problem when you have no idea if insurance will cover it? Your carpet and sheetrock should have been removed asap.

Does everyone trash all the trim?

Yes. Trim is cheap and most will have to be removed to get all the sheetrock/fiberglass out.

Sheetrock & insulation removal, with drying fans and dehumidifiers on my approx. 2000 sqft house after the 2011 tornado cost around $8,000.

That was just that my roof was off and it rained for a couple of hours. Imagine standing water in the house is going to be a good bit more.

My aunt used Nathan Fourrier with Fourrier Construction. He was around 3sq ft. She said he did a good job.

A guy I know that has done lots of work for me in the past. Really a straight up guy.

Let me see if I can get in touch with him to see if he is free anytime soon. I know he's been working about 18hr a day.

I did one wall for a bunch of women to show them how... and they did the rest of the house. Hell, they did a neater job than most I've seen.r

It ain't hard.

You could pay for cheap some undergraduate or graduate students to do it, we need all the $$ we can get . A few other grad students, professors and myself just helped another professor from our department, took a few hours but we got it done and did a pretty good job

The prices can be crazy high--I did hear 15K today for something that a regular contractor quoted out at $3500.

A lot of these mold and water abatement people are storm chasers who come in and charge the absolute top of the market and capitalize on fear. Not all of them I am sure, but after Isaac that was the source of a lot of complaints by homeowners. Homeowners realized after the fact that they had been charged huge prices by a company to do work that they could probably have done themselves.

In any case the company is supposed to be licensed in the state of Louisiana. A lot of these out of town guys are not, and once they realize they have overextended themselves or are ready to go back home, they will leave town. If you realize they did a crappy problem later, good luck tracking them down and doing anything about it.
