That road will wash out sooner rather than later at that rate. Where the whitewater is it's eating out the bank under the road.

It's rose about 3" in 2 hours. Water is still pushing across 74 on to our side making it worse.

They have numerous parish workers on this road. They are saying increased flooding in the next 6-8 hours and possibly 4 foot of water in the next 24-36. Straight from the horses mouth.

So if it continues as is, 4 feet. If the road gives, all bets are off. Correct?

It's crossing under 74 in culverts from the gypsum side to the Ridge Rd side.

Correct. 4' controlled rise if the road holds

Probably around 8' rapid if it gives.

Gotcha. Just came from back there. Saw people leaving with furniture in the bed of trucks. I've never been back there before. Sorry to be nosey rosey, but I had to go get a loom to see what the fuss was about

Hopefully this event encourages the parish to put in pumps to pump bayou manchac and bluff swamp into the Mississippi River.

Unfortunately I bet they will not do anything. Will just use the excuse as it's a once in a lifetime storm and will not spend the money on it.
