Couldn't have asked for a better week 1. Definitely lean Texas tomorrow, but I'm not sure I'm ready to put my money behind a true Freshman running a wide open Art Briles scheme.

Brutal first week for me..don't know why I don't just remember Bama brings it every year/opening day but I always believe in LSU.

To the extent that they pick better than the public, yes. But not all "sharps" do that. And much of betting on the sharp's side is done by the general public, via paying for sharp services (the Sharps can make a lot more money, at lower risk, selling their picks than betting their picks).
And the gambling aspect, not bad picking, is what makes Vegas money.
If you flip a coin, you can hit 50% on games. If you hit 50%, you lose 4.55%. It's not that difficult for most human brains to overcome 4.55%. What gets them is bad gambling: the fever, betting a game just because it's on TV, doubling up, not being able to distinguish a 1 unit play from a 3 unit play. And that's where Vegas cashes in: most people are bad gamblers.

Are we going to see Week 2 lines today? I have a feeling I'll eventually be on Syracuse. I can see the public loading up on Louisville after their 70 point performance.
Edit: I made 7 side bets of teams getting 30% or less of the wagers, those bets went 5-2. More proof it's a good angle.
