A band that you think would have made a legit "Unplugged" album in their prime?

For example, with what nirvana and Alice in chains did for the show..making legit, and with nirvana..sorta iconic moments.
What bands do you feel would have had the talent to make an MTV "unplugged" album, as a legit album when talking about their body of work?
I think Queen could have pulled it off.

I think that U2 could make a really good Unplugged album. The track selection and potential reinterpretations would be key, but I really like the potential.
I Will Follow
Gloria
Sunday Bloody Sunday
40
Unforgettable Fire
With Or Without You
Where the Streets Have No Name
Love Is Blindness
Numb
Stuck In A Moment
Etc.

The second half of G N' R Lies is practically an unplugged album.

Anything involving Freddie would be a surefire success.
If we're talking bands and artists who played mainly electric and distorted instruments then I would nominate the following:
-Gov't Mule (w/Allen Woody)
-The Allman Brothers
-Lynyrd Skynyrd (most Southern rock bands seem like they would translate well to acoustic instruments)
-Jimi Hendrix
-The Who
-Led Zeppelin

IDK about Hendrix. I don't think the Who would be a good one at all. So many of their songs are heavily drum-driven. It just doesn't translate to that style well. Especially with Moon. IDK if he could harness his energy.
Zeppelin would have been great. I think the first 3 would be solid as well.

I also feel that Nine Inch Nails right after the downward spiral would have been interesting too.

IDK about Hendrix.
Hendrix's blues background leads me to believe that he would have slayed during an acoustic setting. Then again, a great deal of his virtuosity seems to be the direct result of his ability to manipulate distortion, reverb, the whammy bar, pedals, etc.

I know its more modern, but Breaking Benjamin put out some solid unplugged stuff. I also love Anything Amy Lee for the female voice. Any of her unplugged music is hard to beat. Old school for me would be Van Halen.

Allen Woody was original bassist for Mule. Woody Allen is a pedo director.
That said, your list is solid.
