Auburn 2006, was that a catch by Jacob Hester?

Game was literally a decade ago, the only thing anyone is going to remember in that game was the obvious pass interference on Buster Davis.

Yes, it was a catch and a fumble in every state of the U. S. except Alabama on that particular day.
He caught the ball, brought it down to his side, took a step and a half, got hit, ball came out and went out of bounds.
Ruling on the field - catch, fumble. 1st down LSU.
Ruling by the replay official and his seeing eye dog - no catch. Auburn ball.
It was the first of many maddeningly bad, if not outright corrupt, calls that day.
Thank you for dredging up one of the most painful chapters in LSU football history. I now feel like punching walls, screaming at my dog and throwing things at my TV.

Yes. We were screwed vs Auburn on multiple plays over multiple games at AU in the mid-late 2000s

then why do people remember details about so many games from decades back? you're wrong.
so you forgot the hester bad call? the PI before halftime on jerraud powers they didn't call? The BS holding on dyakowski that killed a drive into AUburn territory? we had 4 drive killing bad calls/no calls. 8 total for the game. go back and rewatch it. I have it on DVD.

Nope.
There was also the OBVIOUS pass interference call in the end zone just before the half. The Auburn DB was beaten badly by LaFell, so he literally grabbed him with both arms and kept LaFell from even making an attempt at the ball. IIRC, the ball hit the DB square in the back.
Back judge says, "Good D." No flag.
Then there was the phantom holding call against our right guard (the guy from Canada), whose guy beat him and nailed Russell just as he let go of the ball. The pass was complete to the TE for a big gain into FG range.
Of course, the call negated the play, plus tacked on the yardage. The real pisser was their guy beat our guy to the offense's right. Our guy was playing with a broken hand and had his hand completely wrapped. He couldn't have held a cup of water with that hand if he was paid to that day.
There were five or six really f'ed up calls that day, but only four are coming to mind at this point.
ETA: Oh, I just remembered another one. An Auburn receiver fumbled deep in LSU territory. Daniels recovered. Replays clearly showed it was a fumble, but the play was never reviewed for some reason. That was the only scoring drive of the day for Auburn.
Now, off to therapy I go.

One of the most despicable screw jobs by any officiating crew in the history of college football.
Right up there with Colorado's 5 downs and that call in an Oregon game a few years back.
What makes Grand Theft Auburn so bad is that it wasn't just one bad call. It was a boatload of crap the entire day.

yep. it was the worst officiating i have ever seen on any level. something was up for sure with the replay official. how do you miss those calls with a TV yu can rewind? same with the PP int against bama in 2009. that replay official(gerald hodges) shoulda been taken out back and summarily executed. DIck Burleson (replay supervisor) was in the replay booth as well and was confirmed. word was he was used to officiating bama practices yet he was in the replay booth? WTF? I believe al ford was the replay supervisor at auburn. not sure who the exact replay official was there.

I remember it well. I HATE for people to blame officials for losses, but this game was scandalous.
The failure of the Conference to address it said as much as the officiating itself.
