Kinda surprising considering I'm usually pretty sauced when I take an Uber, and I know I've been a drunk a-hole a few times. Made my driver take me to brothers once.

I was a 4.80 before Uber released the statement on tipping. I haven't tipped yet.
On a side note, the new update to the app is nice. Uber now tells you exactly the price you will pay before you even request the vehicle. Brilliant move to combat surging complaints. This also now penalizes the driver instead of the rider for taking an inefficient route since your rate is locked in. Well played, Uber.

Everyone that makes these comments...you do realize what many people utilize Uber for? Uber/Lyft is a great way to responsibly get home after drinking too much out. Much cheaper/safer than a DUI.

I'm a driver and when we get "pinged" all we see is the location, the surge rate, and rating. Once we accept the trip it gives us the first name to make sure we get the right rider.
From all I've seen, most riders have a 4.7-5 and if you're in that group I really wouldn't be worried about being passed up. 4.6 and below though is more than just one driver being a dick, it's a pattern that you might be the dick
For the record, I always give 5 stars unless someone brings food in and spills some in the car. That's just poor form. Coming up on my 200th drive and still no puking in the car.
Also, while the driver can only give a star rating to a rider, riders can give a star rating and an "issues/comments" report. 17% of the rated trips I've done haven't given me a 5 star (I'm at 4.80 right now) and I would LOVE to know how I could've been better! Please leave feedback!

And that does suck, I know in bigger cities you'll get a...certain demographic of drivers where that is their job, like that's it. I just do a couple weekend nights to get fellow kids home safe and make a few bucks on the side. Those who treat this as their full time job can really be pricks.
