Genre?

If you're into fantasy I could not recommend the King Killer Chronicle enough by Patrick Rothfuss. It's beautifully written but a bit of a slower, dense yet amazing book series nonetheless. Probably my all time favorite book series. The Name of the Wind is the first book in the series.

If you want a more high temp, action type of book I'd recommend the Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch. It's basically a fantasy ocean's 11. A bunch of crooks and thieves who are planning a fantasy heist. The Lies of Locke Lamora is the first book in the series.

If you've never read Stephen King's The Dark Tower books I'd recommend them too. Warning - they get weird. The Gunslinger is the first book in the series.

I just finished "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr and thought the book was awesome.

It is a very different spin on your typical book during WWII (and I absolutely LOVE any books written about this time period, fiction or non-fiction). About the separate lives of a blind girl in France and a young German soldier. Very fascinating read imo.

Bosch and/or Lincoln Lawyer series by michael connely.

They intertwine eventually (Bosch series starts much earlier), but either is great on their own.

Elvis Cole series by Robert Crais
Jack Reacher series by Lee Child

Anything by Stephen King

Red Platoon is probably the best audio book I've listened to. I've been doing the audio book thing for a couple of years too.

The Mr. Mercedes trilogy from Stephen King. It's a detective series that is at the top of my 50-60 books I've listened to over the years. The last one just came out.
