Need advice on how to handle this situation

I recently started breeding hedgehogs as a way to make a little extra income on the side. Through divine timing and the opening of doors, I found who I thought was a great mentor. 45 year old single mom that lives in my aunt's neighborhood. The last couple of months she has been coaching me up, giving me books to read, spare supplies, etc..truly helping me more than I could've ever hoped. I went over to her house a couple of weeks ago and she just GAVE me a breeding pair. The deal was that I could have the pair as long as she could have pick of the litter which was and still is perfectly fine with me. Well here's where shite has gone south... We were suppose to go to a hedgehog breeding convention together this past Friday. The plan was for her to pick me up Friday morning and head out. On her way to my place that morning she texted that her friend Scott was driving. Well long story short I know this guy Scott to have a bit of a drug problem. First time I meet the guy he had been up for 3 days ... I texted her explaining this and she only confirmed that she was aware but it wasn't a big deal. When I told her not to come get me because I didn't feel comfortable with him driving she became very angry at me. I ignored her messages until she mentioned wanting "her" hedgehogs back ... Blah blah blah. When I told her that she wasn't getting them back but she could still have pick of the litter which was the deal to begin with, she only grew more angry and told me she would make sure I didn't make it in the hedgehog breeding community. She has already created a group text message and left out half of the details in hopes everyone will take her side on the matter. It's amazing to me how she went from being so kind and giving to so vindictive and hateful simply bc I didn't want to ride 3 hours to a convention with a meth head. So my question is considering I'm just starting out would it be more wise to just give the pair back to her and save my reputation/put out the fires? Or just say frick her and roll with these hogs?

You take the pick from the litter and then give her back the originals. Oh and then kill her.
Also, pics of hedgehogs? Are they all blue?

I'm kind of disturbed that this might not be a solid troll attempt.

1. You're trashy as frick for breeding hedgehogs
2. Should've just given them back
3. Learn how to make paragraphs

A transaction was made with verbal terms. They are yours now. Tell her to find some new spiky mini pigs.

The OT perceives my hedgehog hobby as "trashy" big shocker.
Hedgehog breeding is the opposite of trashy, look it up

You should give them back. You should have given them back when she first asked for them. You are in your rights to keep them because they were a gift, but that doesn't mean that keeping them was the smart thing. It would have been best to try to salvage the relationship to be at least a workable professional relationship when she first asked. Now you have more damage to repair. It is still worth it to try to do what you can. You might not even want to associate with her the same way as before given the sketchy company she keeps, but you should still want things to be cordial.
I know nothing about this hedgehog breeding business. Is this legit? What are the uses? Is this just pet breeding?
