Will the mets break the bank for Cespedes?

He's having a pretty good year and it's even more magnified when looking at how bad their mets offense has been at times. He will almost certainly opt out and I think some team will throw $200+ million at him, do you think the Wilpons pay up or will they save the money for Thor,Degrom, etc?

He's the only consistent offense they have. They better.

quote:He will be 31 at the end of the year... the best he can hope for is a Jason Werth type of deal. Doubt he sees 200m since he has never been as good as Pujols who got over 200m at 32. Cano got 240 million at 31 but he was a better player as well.

Are the Mets capable of breaking the bank? Serious question.

No way Cespedes touches $200 million. He's too old. He was just a FA and only got $75 million. Now that was over just three years and he is having a really nice year, so that number may go up some, but not close to $200 million IMO.
