Does Covington have a black population outside of St. Slammany?

I found this advocate guys Twitter.
@faimon

He has some pretty funny pics and quotes. I'd post but don't know how.

And to answer question looks like enough to count on both hands

I assume it went off as planned and there was no stupidity.

There's nothing on NOLA.com (not that that really means much...) and Covington PD hasn't updated FB today. The guy organizing the protest, Harrison Vaughn, was on CPD's FB page yesterday answering questions. He stated multiple times that it was to be peaceful and that anyone starting trouble would be turned over to the cops and escorted out. I hope it all went as smoothly as planned.

This is the post from yesterday on Covington PD's FB page:

This is to advise that a small assembly is planned on the steps of the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center on Columbia Street on Friday, July 15th at 7:00 p.m. Organizers have met with Chief Tim Lentz and local law enforcement agencies and have assured all that this will be a peaceful assembly. No interruptions of business or government are anticipated for tomorrow or over the weekend. Local departments are prepared to meet the needs of this event, which is expected to last for about an hour.

It doesn't sound like it was ever intended to be some huge or all night long rally.

It was, quite literally, a peaceful protest

it started with a prayer, and a handful of people spoke outside the courthouse it looked like.

Not one single Molotov was thrown. No car windows were busted out. No drug stores were looted.

One speaker said it perfectly: (pointing at the courthouse) "once we're in here, it's too late"

Absolutely, St Tammany will throw the book at you. Your criminal career will be a very brief one.

Since the OP is pretty much useless, here's the Twitter account of the reporter covering the demonstration.

Looks like probably 30 people

I drove past it on my way home around 7:40ish. There was a crowd of probably 75-80 at most out there. About what I expected. 50/50 split of white and black from what I could tell. To even call it a protest is a stretch. It seemed very mild and peaceful. More people were there to watch than participate.
