If Les does not win the SEC West at least this year
He will be fired !
Is that fair - I think so - So Les go out and prove yourself
Beat the Gators Beat Bama Beat the Hogs Beat Ole Miss
I have the need to go to Atlanta this year !

These things are so stupid. So, you're saying if we go 11-1, beat Bama, but lose a close game at Jordan Hare because Auburn has a magical 12-0 season, Les should be fired?
But if we go 9-3 like we did when we won the SEC in '01, he stays? That's fricking retarded.

I think he has to do one of these two things to keep his job:
1) win west
2) make playoffs
No one should care if we don't win the west if we make the playoffs
ETA: I fully understand it is unlikely to make the playoffs without winning the west. But it's not impossible. Don't be dumb.

I don't think he has to win the West. I would like to see more conversation about what posters think he has to do at the minimum to keep his job. Can he finish 3rd and keep his job? Is 9 wins enough?

whether you agree or disagree with OP, he is right. Les' buyout, which apparently is what Fking Alexander cited as being prohibitively high, will be $9,000,000.00 after 1/1/17. thats down 40% from the 15 million buyout that gave lease a new les on life.

since beating Alabama/Arkansas back to back is equally as difficult as winning the Semi-final/Final back to back, Winning the West for LSU is equally as hard as winning the national championship.

I love when people start threads like this (constantly) and state the obvious...

Leslie is not winning the West this year and he will not be fired either.
Posted on 7/13/16 at 11:07 am to TigerCliff777
No he does not. If he wins 10 games and a decent bowl he will be the
Coach next year.
Coach next year.

I agree... but fans will come in here and tell you that Les doesnt need to win anything and tell you how much of an ungrateful fan you are and to go root for someone else because Les is the best thing that has happened to LSU... and then they will start talking about the growing pains of the 1990s and how you should be thankful if LSU finishes 9-3. Blah blah blah...

I think the line is at winning the west and/or beating Bama.
I dont think thats too much to ask this year.

That is one of the worst thought out posts I've read in a while. What a rambling pile of crap.

Go lay down on the railroad tracks. And take everyone like you along

Les isn't going anywhere unless he goes 8-4 or less. With this talent Les can't even f that up. He wasn't fired because the contract is too much for F King to explain to people that the students don't pay for the buyout, that it comes from the TAF which is private funds and nothing to do with the university. Simple as that. Nothing has changed since then. The issue is the same if he is 9-3 or better.

Why would you set those criteria now? Let the season play out and evaluate the results, then make a decision.

No he doesn't, and he shouldn't. He doesn't have to win the west OR beat Alabama. What he needs to do, and should definitely be fired if he doesn't, is start beating the shite teams like Arkansas and Ole Miss the majority of the time. 9-9 versus those two over the past nine years is absolutely inexcusable.
