North Baton Rouge sure had a lot less color back then.

If the Pizzolato family was smart, they'd keep the Louisiana Seafood plant at the Plank Road location and move the store to a larger and newer site in South Baton Rouge. They're about 20 years late on doing that. The move would pay for itself within 3-4 years and they would double if not triple their yearly profits.

Would love to see what those areas look like now.
You should post those on the Old Images of BR facebook page. Also has a ton of cool stuff like that.

I guess you don't know any Pizzolato's.....
Just joking. Grew up with some in Central. They're good people.

ditto on this comment..
Can anyone post the address on these locations?
Man I wish people had the foresight to keep a few of these old buildings in shape and still around

Their lunch counter always has a line and you can't get into the parking lot during crawfish season. People come to them. No need to move.

The family fueds they have with each other prevent smarter decisions.

Tony's is now the demilitarized zone. It's always busy, there's always at least 3-4 cops there, and it's surrounded by north Baton Rouge.
I honestly think the Plank Road corridor could actually be revitalized if north Baton Rouge politicians had any focus beyond getting reelected.

EKL and Redempt closing has to be the biggest casualties in NBR. St Gerard’s parish is struggling to stay alive. Such a beautiful church and grounds with very very little parishioners. St Gerard Elem is staying alive due to vouchers.

Even with the sheriff deputies on site I still feel the need to carry a gun when going to Tonys, but those Crawfish are worth it.
