I feel for Arsenal fans in that sense... the reluctance to spend on needs is mind boggling..

It's the worst part.

Nobody is saying spend money to keep up with everyone else. It's the fact that Arsenal have had the same needs for quite some time now. For the last two summers they desperately needed a GK, a holding midfielder, a CB and a ST.

Brilliant business to bring Cech in cheap. The rest of last summer was a joke to not bring anyone else in, they paid for it. Hopefully Xhaka pans out but I will give credit for sealing that transfer early this summer. Now CB is looking like a nightmare and Arsenal aren't acting decisively enough. No need to overanalyze the ST fiasco for the millionth time.

I just wish Arsenal showed the ambition other top clubs did in the window. Pick your targets, don't over haggle and close the deal early so they get a preseason with the club. Arsene seems too stuck on finding cheap deals or hoping that some domino effect happens that allows a great player to end up in their lap again.

Well, that was fun. What the hell happened in the second half? Team looked totally different.

So what's Stan gonna do? Fly his private jet between LA and London all fall? Or is Arsenal going to take a back seat?

Arsenal gonna Arsenal. I'm too defeated to even melt. Thanks Kroenke and Arsene.

Kroenke is the worst owner. Feel for you all.

Alright, boys! Still 37 games left!

That means we can still finish the season with 111 points.

Everyone quit being babies and let's get it together.

This is Arsenal. We're accustomed to grand expectations, followed by a devastating let-down, finalized by a semi-miraculous turn around, all in an effort to maintain our status quo.

So go buy some good booze, gents; appears we'll need it this campaign

1 win in the last seven openers. Our opening games the last few seasons have been incredibly disappointing. I should just save myself the frustration and stop watching this team on opening day.

Spent my weekend demo-ing my own house after flooding, and helping my wife coordinate care for 190 elderly patients.

All that was more fun than watching that shite show of a match.

I don't know why I watch this sport sometimes.

Per BBC David Ornstein

Arsenal yet to agree fee for Mustafi. #AFC considering Omer Toprak & Simon Kjaer as alternatives but Mustafi remains priority & keen to join

Price the issue. Arsenal want to hold back funds for possible striker signing. #AFC transfer budget factors in fee, salary, agent commission

Holy shite can you imagine the fans at the game if we don't have him signed and lose to Leicester?

This was posted in the Liverpool thread:

still buzzing, love that we did our business early in the window and our transfers had a full preseason to get up to speed. our fitness levels are insane.

How nice would it be to get our business done early in the window and not wait and get screwed later on? I know it's a pipe dream with Stan and Arsene at the helm but it would be awesome if it ever happened. Plus the new signings would get a whole preseason to mesh with the rest of the team.

Liverpool covered more ground than any team ever has since the player tracker was implemented. That's just nuts. They beat us in almost every aspect of that game yesterday, and it showed.

Ramsey out for a month. Haven't seen anything on Iwobi yet.

That's something Klopp preached when he first got here. And he implemented triple training sessions to start the summer so we sure as hell better be in shape. Will make it much easier to keep that up with no European football as well.

That is one thing I realized watching the game yesterday. Liverpool looked so much faster to the ball and much better conditioned. Didn't realize the difference in training

I mean, I have no one to blame but myself. Another risky fantasy pick that goes down in flames. FML.

Changing the subject of the thread to this. And considering getting it tatooed on my arm with the Arsenal crest.
