LSU's Doctor and Trainer are top notch. Trust me. If Latz wants to blame someone, he can go look in a mirror.

If he's ever healthy. It doesn't seem like that arm will ever be ready for a significant role in a bullpen. I hope he does have a successful career, but man I don't think that arm can take thousands of pitches based off of what we've seen/haven't seen.

We need to re-evaluate how we do things if a left-hander who throws in the 90s doesn't fit here.

Say what you want about Maineri but his pitchers rarely get serious arm injuries. He's done a damn good job with the health of our staff since his arrival.
Seemed like every ace we had under Smoke had to undergo Tommy John.

I'll have to side with PM on this issue.

If he doesn't trust the LSU medical staff, it's not LSU that needs to re-evaluate things.

Glad he's doing this sooner rather than later. Maybe this can help lure Poche back

From a person very close to the situation. Jake did not like how Mainieri and the training staff have handled his injuries over the last 2 years. Which is why he flew out of state multiple times to get "second opinions" didn't trust LSU or their doctors.

da frick? if anyone fricked up Latz's recovery it was the latz family. No way you can put this one on Mainieri and/or LSU's doctors.

I agree with you 100% I'm just relaying what actually happened. Classic case of "I think I'm ready" but there's people looking out for your best interest so they don't recklessly throw you out there without thinking you're 100%. He should have taken the advice last year to just have the surgery instead of being a 19 year old know it all. Mainieri, Dunn, Couture would never sit a guy when he was ready to pitch, especially someone so talented. Kid couldn't accept that he was severely injured and needed surgery. Didn't like being told what to do with his body. Good riddance, I truly wish him luck if he could get healthy.

I'm not sure how they can be expected to trust the people that told him to get a surgery 18 months before he had to get the surgery they told him to get. Like they know what they are talking about.

I don't think it's his talent or potential that doesn't fit here

He had no friends on the team besides Papierski, rarely spent time with teammates. Just never seemed to fit in with the team. Add that to the fact he thought Mainieri/ staff was out to get him... Don't need that kind of kid in your program.

I side with Mainieri and the training staff 100% on this issue.

He'd have to be seriously stupid to not trust the Coaches/medical staff. They are top notch when it comes to looking out for the players best interest. You see other coaches always overusing arms but rarely here.

not only that he went against their advice and it didnt work. so he was proven wrong. so im having a hard time understanding how he could be blaming Mainieri or the doctors. I would hope that's not true because if it is then well he's kinda dumb. No other way to put it really.

How many since PMs arrival?

Smoke could ruin 3 arms in one inning.
