Jaw surgery has left a Texas woman with a British accent, a rare neurological disorder that has the mother-of-three sounding more like a character from "Downton Abbey."

Accent is one thing, but I doubt she would be using British slang. I call bs.

Pip, pip. Cheerio. Bob's your uncle, and all that rot.

I've heard of injuries like that where the patient wakes up as a math genius or musical genius too. It's a very strange phenomenon.

If I ever get this infliction I would want an Irish accent.

Why is she trying to fix it. I'd rather talk like a brit than some poor uneducated Latino.

That's how Brad Friedel got his accent too

I knew it all along, that accent is a disorder

A few years ago we had a bigwig from another office visiting our site(oddly enough, from Houston) and he had his assistant with him. She suffered from the same ailment, she had gotten very ill and had to have surgery and when she woke up she was speaking with a British accent. This was a different woman though, she was tall blonde and very good looking.

Has Sir Winston had this surgery? Bugger off mate.
ETA< These accidents happen all the time. The surgeon set the vocab and dialect settings to "British" by mistake. could happen to anyone.

You'll know something is up if she starts serving her kids hot tea and feeding them cookies for breakfast. "Biscuits" they call them
