He didn't run to another basketball team chasing a title out of fear that he could not do it where he was playing.

And now he's done it in both places so we can put that talking point to bed, along with all the others.

Jordan has stated this decision was made to pursue the dream of his late father, who had always envisioned his son as a Major League Baseball player.

And what others are those????? You seem to be trying VERY VERY hard to say Bron is better than MJ... Why don't you admit that's what you are trying to do and get it over with.......

Well we're in a thread discussing their accomplishments through age 31. LeBron is unquestionably better to this point. You can take issue with the measuring stick, but there is a clear victor through this point.

Ok. I have to say that Bron has been somewhat better as far as accomplishments by this age.. But MJ was a STUD from the day he walked on the court and didn't bolt to another team with a bunch of stars to get his 1st rings... Sorry but I hold that against him.....[bron]

Comparing them both at 31 is dumb also because LeBron had an extra 4 years on MJ

When one player is still active you should compare them by age. LeBron has a better resume than MJ through age 31. LeBron is as good at basketball as Jordan was at the same age, so who knows how his career turns out.

It's just as much Jordan fans being insecure. Every time LBJ succeeds, they beat their Jordan chest. Reason, LBJ is actually threatening.

Let's say, hypothetically speaking, LeBron gets to 6 titles in 10 finals appearances. 6-4 in the finals is more impressive than 6-0 with a bunch of early exits

Let's just hypothetically say Jordan didn't go play baseball and won 2 more. Than 8-0 would be better than 6-4.

See how that works?

Anyone who says MJ wasn't 6-0 didn't see him play?

I'd have to agree.

1 of the hypotheticals can actually happen, big difference.

You also dodged the question...which is better 6-0 or 6-4?

6-0 is better than 6-4 when you removed 2 years due to baseball play in prime

Well it's entirely within the realm of possibility that LeBron wins 3 more titles before he retires.

The quoted hypothetical could happen. Your hypothetical is impossible.

My problem doesn't come from a hatred or insecurity regarding Lebron but rather the lack of perspective by most arguing he is equal to or better than Jordan.

IRL, the oldest supporter of that position I've ever met is currently 22 which means they have no memory of Jordan apart from a couple Wizards seasons when they were 7-8. Their entire NBA perspective is the watered down 21st century, and their impressionable years were the abysmal early and mid 2000s. They have no concept of the game or what they missed in the 80s or 90s.

Now I don't know the breakdown on this board, but I'd wager most here who argue that are under 25. I just don't believe anyone who watched Jordan in the 90s or understands how much harder the game was for scorers back then could reasonably believe Lebron is better.

Michael Jordan was something never seen before or since, he was a force of a nature unlike anything else in sports history.
