I'm taking my parents there tonight.

My dad tends to only order fried fish at restaurants...he is old school.. my mother and I will try anything.

I've been a few times and I've left impressed every time. Any suggestions, other than fried fish for him? I think he orders it because he feels safe and knows it takes a jackass to really frick up fried fish.

Eta: it makes me super sad that the stuffed chicken breast, from the lunch menu, isn't on the dinner menu.

Those shrimp in the bread bowl for an app are really good. They normally have a grilled fish special that is really good.

I've been for lunch and dinner. I know the crab and brie soup is amazing.

Last time we went for dinner, they had the black drum fish special, which was phenomenonal. I'm trying to expand his horizons.

Everything is great, food and service classic La. style, with a big smile. Hopefully Roberto himself is there and can visit your table, he is a gem

Your Dad sounds like my MIL, which I why I won't take her to any nicer seafood restaurants. Hell, I can fry fish/shrimp at my house. To each their own, but if all she's going to get is fried shrimp, then I'm not dropping $70 $80 dollars at a nice restaurant. We can just go to a little po-boy place.

I usually find myself ordering whatever special they have going that night.

I agree.

But my mom and I like all types of seafood and this is one of the best places I've been to.

I know it's Father's day, but mom's b day is the 22nd. He will dwi.

He isn't picky and doesn't complain. The only reason he is going out to eat is because the women (me and mom) are making him.

Although I do recognize the availability of fresh seafood here is definitely underrated. After seeing someone that lives in Houston for close to 6 months....I go there, I get real Mexican and BBQ..he comes here, he gets seafood.

Works out great imo

Does everything have to be fried or just the base?

The Shrimp Roberto is bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp and is fried.

Catfish Billy can be fried and is smothered w/ etouffee.

The shrimp Roberto is awesome!

I've never tried anything at Roberto's that I didn't like.

I'm sure he will get fried fish, which is fine. But I'm going to get some type of strange app for him to try.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!!!
