Anyone keeping an eye on Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is currently surging. It's up to $730. Bitcoin is up $300 in one month. It's currently at its highest point since bottoming out at $150 after its collapse from $1200 over two years ago.

Curious, was anyone able to sell their bitcoin for $1,200 back then? I don't know much about bitcoin at all, but it seems like it would be tough to cash out anyway so sounds too risky. And at $730? Nah.

I think wiki retired off of Bitcoin and became a hermit.

Wiki and his ole lady are living the swinger lifestyle on all the money he made from bitcoin.

I keep an eye on it. I use it as a confidence indicator. One small piece of everything I look at in an overall, very simplified way to take a look at the big picture.

True story: when I was in my early 20's a guy I worked with talked me into a penny stock which ended up as Jaguar Nickle I believe. When we first started with it it was called something else. I had no brokerage account, didn't know shite about investing, and wasn't making a lot of money then as a college student. Gave him some money every few weeks to invest. Wound up with 30k+ shares after a little while. This even younger guy (late teens and a valet) put everything he had into it. Even sold his car since he could take BART (San Francisco) and bought shares. I believe he ended up with somewhere around 500k shares. He lived with his family so I guess he said frick it. I had rent, a girl, tuition, and family to fly home to in NOLA plus I was scared to go all-in

Yes, you know the end result; the shares went up to $2 at one point. The guy who put the money into his account for me disappeared for a while. I was living in L.A. by this point and someone else I was friends with from the same job calls me and says "did you see your stock" and I said no

Anyway, the other guy supposedly sold some when it hit $1 and some when it was closer to the $2. So in his early 20's he became a near millionaire because of a fricking penny stock and some serious onions. He totally disappeared though and didn't return calls, quit the valet job, and I'd like to think he traveled the world. He possibly became a hermit too

don't get sucked in. It is a dead end road. Even the inventor of bitcoin cashed out admitting it isn't feasible in its current form.
They are already working on a realistic version deux that has a real chance at succeeding. Don't get duped by the original.

It works great with Bovada. Get my money in 2 days from cashing out and in my bank account the day after for a very reasonable fee. I'm leaving my winning from last nights game in until mid july.

It gets even better. The last escort I talked to said that she takes bitcoins as payment.

You know it's good stuff when escorts take em.

that article was in Jan 2016. Price would've tumble if what he said was legit.

Yes, but purely a spectators eye.
I would never "invest" (really, gable) with cryptocurrencies. I would hate to see the value of my currency (buying power) be reduced by 10% overnight. shite is ridiculous.

I don't think it ridiculous. It's like gold online. Except you can break it up to any size. I just bought my first item online. its cool because you don't need to go through visa/mc.

You missed the point. Big time.

I'm not being critical, but isn't it pretty much the opposite of gold? It has no physical properties, you can't see it or touch it and it has no numismatic or collector value.
Just an observation. Pay me no mind. I'm not " down". I don't have a Facebook account and I don't even know what memes are all about.
