LeBron's Finals Performance in historical context - Is it the GOAT?

As has been said many times since last night, LeBron leads both teams in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. He's averaging 30/11/8/2/2 for the Finals, something no one has ever done, but if you isolate any three categories, here is how he stacks up historically.
Per game averages in the Finals of at least...
30p/11r/8a
LeBron James 2016
LeBron James 2015
30p/11r/2s
LeBron James 2016
30p/11r/2b
LeBron James 2016
Shaquille O'Neal 2000
Shaquille O'Neal 2001
Shaquille O'Neal 2002
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 1974
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 1980
30p/8a/2s
LeBron James 2016
Michael Jordan 1991
30p/8a/2b
LeBron James 2016
30p/2s/2b
LeBron James 2016
11r/8a/2s
LeBron James 2016
Magic Johnson 1980
11r/8a/2b
LeBron James 2016
11r/2s/2b
LeBron James 2016
Hakeem Olajuwon 1986
8a/2s/2b
LeBron James 2016
No player has averaged as high in 4 of the 5 categories, much less all 5. He is making an incredibly strong case for GOAT all-around performance in the Finals thus far.

You know damn well it won't mean shite if he doesn't win game 7.
Unfortunate, but true.

To whom?
The only people who think it won't mean anything are people who hate LBJ "just because"
Win or lose, he deserves the MVP award and his performances from the last two games will be remembered as some of the greatest in NBA finals history.

It's obvious you have a serious love crush on LeBron James. It's actually kind of sad!

Lebron is playing as good as any player I've seen in the finals, especially over the last 2 games. Is it the best ever, IDK but I can't imagine him doing more. Dude went on an 18-0 run by himself effortlessly.

He may get Finals MVP, but it damn sure matters to his legacy if they win. It'd cap one of the best storylines in Finals history.

Unfortunately, there is absolutely no chance in hell he wins game 7. Just another chapter and epilogue to the ongoing beliveland saga.

I'm glad for you that you'll be able to double your savings account, as you'd have no reason to not bet your life savings on a game GS has no chance in hell of losing.
Congrats on your winnings!!!

It wasn't an 18-0 run, he just scored 18 straight.
Actually, at the 5:01 mark of the 3rd quarter the score was 72-57. By the 2:59 mark of the 4th quarter the score was 108-88. During that stretch, the Warriors scored 31 points and got it as close as 7 points. LeBron scored or assisted on 35 of the Cavaliers 36 points (Irving technical FT was the other point). He was 9/14 from the field, including 2/4 from 3. He was 5/6 on FTs, had 4 assists, 3 total rebounds (1 offensive), 2 blocks, and 1 steal.

Yeah that's what I meant.

Here is what Lebron has on the line in Game 7:
- a 3rd Finals MVP
- a 3rd NBA Championship
- winning a Championship for Cleveland after growing up in Akron
- winning a championship over the team who holds the all-time single season wins record and defeating the season league MVP (who was the only unanimous choice ever)
- He would also have the same number of NBA Championships and NBA Finals MVP awards as Jordan at age 31
That is a lot of pressure and a Game 7 win will still be incredibly difficult.

And it isn't close. People have their nostalgic sacred cows, but a true fan of the game can't deny the greatness of LeBron James' 2016 NBA Finals performance.
