How often should it be done. Have had annual inspections , but don't know how long treatment last. Mine is 5 years. No problems, but still being cautious. Thanks for input

I just had mine redone at my house and it was i guess 9 years because the house was built in 07 and I bought it in 09, but I do believe it was retreated as part of the house closing. so it could be more along 7 years. I paid a total was 526 for the termindor treatment which is now good for 15 years according to the pest control company. I think the annual premium is like 180.

I know a couple of people without formosan termite coverage that had to pay in the 15 to 20k range for formosan damage in BR. I'm gonna keep paying my $300 annual premium.

Treatments should be done every 5-10 years, as the best products on the market last 10 years (Termidor or Taurus). Anything over is the company taking a chance that you won't have any issues.
Also, both of the products listed above are the best at eliminating Formosan termites.

Lowe's only sells the bait version last time I checked. Go with Termidor. It's awesome and got rid of the wanderers that I had. Not fun digging the trench around the perimeter of your house, but it's better than having termites.

I'd go with Taurus SC as it's EXACTLY the same as Termidor but almost half the price. In fact, Termidor sued Taurus because they are so close in resemblance, but Taurus won out.
But as stated before, just spraying up against your structure will not do anything. Digging, and possibly drilling under additional pours are necessary.

$300 seems high. Plus, I keep hearing how there are so many outs for the termite company to avoid paying for damage.

I here you, but after I get my outside/inside inspection every year I make sure that I'm told in writing/email that I have no active termites. Any termite damage that happens after that is on them. The $300 also covers formosan.
