Non relevant, but may be helpful to someone on board. During the late 50's/early 60's if you had a house in the south, Orkin put on a campaign for 100% assurance program that you would never have termites and if you did they would pay 100% of the repair costs; including replacement of entire home.

We had such a house in Baton Rouge 'til we moved in '06. Premium was $10/yr. This was also "transferrable to a new owner".

Background: At some point, I believe in the 70's, they balked on these contracts and subsequently had a class action brought against them in Atlanta, GA. They lost.

If you have such a home in Baton Rouge, check into this. The seller of the home that we bought used this as a major selling point in '87 when we bought the home.



PS: Orkin paid "extra special" attention to our home during annual inspections.

Be prepared to apply at the rate of 4 gallons of emulsion for every 10 feet of trench. Also, top dress the trenches after you've filled them in. This isn't something easily done with a pump- up garden sprayer.....

5 gallon bucket and a shovel. don't forget to treat your drains as well
