He was drafted in the 32nd Rd, that's a slap in the face.
He will be back.

Being drafted at all is a privilege.

I mean, it's nice, but it isn't like it's a 2 or 7 round draft. It's 40 (and used to be 50) rounds

But to suggest that being drafted late is a slap in the face, when they don't even have to draft you at all is absurd.

First Team All-SEC Shortstop and Second Team All-American being drafted 962nd is a slap in the face. I'm sorry.

Smith & Stallings are gone.

Deichman isn't going to get 7 figures next year, not close. If you think they are not getting a lot of money offered to them now, wait until next year when they have no leverage.

Deichmann is a sophomore. He will have plenty leverage....

He already decided to come back. I obviously didn't mean that he wouldn't have leverage to get some money, he's just not going to get 7 figures. The rising seniors who turn down the draft will lose leverage however.

Why couldnt he? based on his tools and the way he finished this year, he could easily go in the top 50-60 picks next year with a strong Junior season.

Hope so. I know his stats are not that great but IMO he has the best looking swing on the team. I expect big things from this kid.
Totally agree with this. Kid will absolutely be special here before he's done.

True story. If he hits around .320 and at least maintains his power numbers...what makes him different from someone like Fraley? I could see him going top two rounds especially if he finds a position. I predict around .315 and 15 homers for him. Makes himself some money.

His power makes him different, but in a good way. He's answering the hitting questions. He still needs to show that he's got functional baseball speed and not just straight line speed. And get better defensively.

KRob will be staying

He would have to get drafted in the top 60 picks to get 7 figures. He's not going to get drafted there if he doesn't have a definite pro position.

you didnt know he was a draft eligible sophomore, did you?
