This. It might be the most annoying thing about the Millennial argument. I will agree that most of the kids today between 16-21 are pussies. But slapping that tag on anyone who is young in their eyes is a little bit ridiculous.

Top right is the most telling. So pretty much, if we needed more guys cause we were getting our asses whipped they still wouldn't join. There's absolutely no sense of patriotism in my age group. It's goddamned pathetic.
Eta: I would also like to say though, if this was a WWII type situation then I feel like the answers would be much different. This generation grew up in the shadows of 9/11 and the ME fiascos. So I can see them not wanting to go fight another bullshite war.

Appears the greatest generation were poor parents, and the baby boomers were crappier parents, and gen X has been worse parents, and I am sure M's will be even crappier parents.

Greatest Generation's biggest flaw was that they were TOO stern and their kids rebelled against everything their parents taught them.

I'd say this is close. My definition of Millennials are those born 1990 or later, where they hit 10 at the turn of the century, and grow up in a digital age where everything is available to them.

They all wanted to be the cool parents and buddy up to their kids. Children don't need adult friends, they need parents.

This range encompasses someone who never owned a cell phone in their youth or had access to Internet to a person who had a cell phone growing up and full access to Internet. Not the same category at all. It's a terrible range. It really needs to split somewhere.

I agree completely. If you were born in the mid 80s you didn't grow up with internet, smartphones youtube and facebook etc didn't even exist until you were in college or later. That makes a big difference and you can't really relate to the "millenials" who have had those things pretty much their whole lives

The problem is this..
If we decided to pull-back, and let ISIS/AQ grow unchecked, it will only be a matter of time before they are sitting at your doorstep. Protecting your way of life, wife/kids, etc, would be 10x more difficult when you finally decide to do something.

But even then, I'm not going to sit idly by while my fellow countrymen are getting blown up and shot up. I have a little more pride in where I come from.

To be fair, I was born mid 80s and first got exposed to Internet in middle school and high school. But it was mostly AOL/AIM/napster and simple pages. Nothing even close to streaming content or glitzy websites.
