It's hard to find a sandwich these days that really stands out. But I had a hot steak sandwich from Corner Bakery Cafe (they don't have them in BR but they are popular in Texas & elsewhere) and it was very good.

The bread was good but what really stood out was the steak. The seasoning was perfect (and way better than I expected), the steak was cut very thin, and it was very lean. If you're ever traveling, try that place.

Po'Boy Express has a pretty solid steak sandwich if that's what you're looking for. If you want something else I'd suggest the pork belly hoagie from City Pork on Jefferson.

Corner Bakery is a solid mini chain. they do a very good job and their breakfast is money

i think its a step above the Panera/McAllister/Le Madeline

We have two of hem in Jackson area. Not a bad place to grab a meal. Kind of like Panera.

Son lives there on Troy Hill and we have been there. If I want fries with my sandwich I'll order them. Prefer to not have them piled high on the sandwich.

I can live without Primanti Bro sandwiches just fine.

If you want a great sandwich I highly recommend The Local in Denham Springs. Really good stuff.
