Spend a full day if you can. If the wife and kids can't handle it, go without them.

Who's the dick down-voting me?
Posted on 6/2/16 at 10:41 pm to TIGERSandFROGS
I have to downvote any post that mentions downvoting. It's a compulsion. I'll go ahead and downvote my post too.

Bob, I volunteer at the WWIIl museum and I believe they would be very interested in that. Thanks.

Things to see: The Homefront, Normandy Exhibit (Operation Overlord), Road to Berlin and Road to Tokyo. Boeing Freedom Pavillion with all the heavy equipment is great. Those I listed can be viewed at your own pace. The movie, Beyond all Boundaries is good, but it is a 45 minute movie. If you are there for half a day, you'll do ok but am sure you will want to return to take it all in more thoroughly. If you get the chance, be sure to stop by Tommy Godchaux outside the Road to Berlin. He is a WWII vet and will tell some very interesting stories, as well as show you some photos never published.

Be prepared to feel depressed after.

I'm saving that for a trip to the Holocaust museum one day.

Not to hijack but if any of yall find yourselves in Ohio, you absolutely need to check this place out National Museum of the US Air Force

What are the must-see's
-"Beyond all Boundaries"
-The static airplanes in the Boeing hall
-The trinitite. There's just something powerful to me about turning a corner and there is an unassuming piece of green glass made by an atomic weapon.

And I highly recommend the Naval Aviation Museum

That and the word baw. I even have to downvote my own post.
I need to go check out the WW2 Museum before my brother gets transferred somewhere else. The Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola is pretty amazing as well.

Just got back. Was really impressive. I visited the Road to Berlin and Tokyo features. The Tom Hanks video was really good (although Tom referred to Russians instead of Soviets). Wish they would have mentioned in the Path to Tokyo that the Japs were butchering our POWs as we advanced. The Ranger raid in the Philipinnes to rescue them would've been a nice addition. Then there were the planes in the Boeing exhibit. Wow.
I'm going to go back. I'd love to listen to more of the oral histories. Wish they had more German artificats.
One thing I recommend. I paid $60 for two adults. Wish I had checked out the membership because $90 would pay for free admission for me and a guest for a whole eyar.

Beyond All Boundaries 4D film is pretty legit, especially when the atomic bomb goes off.

I think the static displays in Dayton outshined the ones in DC and Dulles. Want to go back since they added the fourth hanger.
I like the experimental hanger. The F-23 was cool, and the Valkyrie was my favorite.

Yup. Wish they had an ME109 and a Zero though. Would've been cool.
Was surprised at how many Asians were there. I say Asians because I assumed they were mainly Japanese but am probably wrong.
