Anyone familiar with Toledo Bend in July - what's biting, what baits to use? Taking the family there for several days in a couple months....I'm not familiar with fishing there at all.

Bream on worms or crickets. It'll be a hot mofo, may catch a few bass at daylight on a top water bite. Look for schoolies mid morning busting the top.

Go night fishing for bass or white perch.

Drive around looking for schoolies.

This! Not gonna catch any lunkers that way, but nothing wrong with catching numbers on the top!

So, I'm assuming that after daylight the bass are hard to come by in the middle of the summer there?

I'd say definitely fish deep big ole 10xd or a spoon but if you haven't been before finding good offshore stuff off the bat is tough.
I'd stay shallow and fish lilly pads with a frog or buzzbait then pack it in when the sun comes up and go back out about 6pm and try to find some perch.

Catch bream , put out trot line or set hooks for big cats.
Live bream are the best bait

Hire a crappie guide.
Night fish for bass worms if full moon or around lights, buzz baits if dark.
Days top water early and late around deep grass or worm and jig in 15 to 20 feet with structure. Humps and points

Did anyone say it would be FRICKING HOT once the sun came up? A wise old indian once said hunt for big bucks at night by way of a torch, same advise for fishing TB during the summer...

Maybe Bossier2323 will chime in. He's the resident expert on anything fishing.

He's never been and not familiar with the lake and with his family. The first thing i would recommend is TO NOT GO OUT AT NIGHT!!!
