I'm told it would have won, I want to say pay out is about $150,000 but I'm somewhat drunk and can not verify that
I have a pic of the fish and I'm working on downloading an ap to post it

Engine trouble, sucks for them, but rules are rules. Payout depends on a couple of factors in obbc, not a flat pay out pretty sure

Any word on how JJ did?
Nevermind. I see he didn't fish it. I'm sure he'll be in the Blue Marlin Grand Championship in July though.

Rules are in place for a reason.

quote:Yep. We fished the Rick's Cabaret tournament years ago and had the 1st place wahoo (70 lbs.) as the weigh-in ended that pays $9000. There was another boat coming in to the weigh-in and were running late and said they had a big wahoo, and supposedly were buddies of the tournament directors. Well, they pulled into the marina over half an hour after the weigh-in was supposed to end. I went and found one of the tournament directors and told him that if they put that fish on the board, he was gonna have 7 pissed off half drunk Coonasses to deal with.
Rules are in place for a reason.
Well, they weighed the fish and it was smaller than ours, but would have won 2nd place if they would have allowed it.

There was also a 189 pound YFT that was DQed because the boat prop hit it.
Posted on 5/22/16 at 7:32 pm to El Jefe
Why does that DQ it?
