best of luck. Rumor is my company is shedding about 10-15k jobs in the next few weeks. We are about 135k employees.
My job is safe, but having gone through this about 20 times in my career, it can be nerve wracking. I sorta hope I get laid off to tell you the truth.

Great news!

Streamline your finances and be ready to deal with this in future should it happen again.

You would get 4 months pay? Find a damned job if you get laid off.
Most people get a pink slip and are lucky if their health benefits last until the end of the month.

What age range are you in? If you are in the 35-40 demo, you are probably in pretty good shape to land a job relatively quick. If you are 45 or above it becomes more problematic statistically.
If you can land back in telecomm good for you, but I would still place my resume out there from time to time in other industries wherein demand is somewhat inelastic and not as sensitive to market swings, etc.
