Post Wreck Shenanigans

I was struck last week by a driver who arrived at a 4 way stop sign after me, then tried to go before I did, causing a wreck. There were no witnesses (left alive), and at the scene the police could not determine fault. I gave my statement to the other driver's insurance company, and the agent told me our stories were conflicting. What's the probable scenario here?
1. The other driver told the truth and the agent simply said the stories were conflicting to avoid liability until a later point.
2. The other driver is lying (or wasn't paying attention)so that he doesn't have to be deemed at fault.
I've been hit a couple of times, but I've never had a situation where it wasn't clearly the other driver's fault, and I've never been in a wreck where the other driver has (possibly) tried to pull something like this. What has experience taught the OT about likelihood of those two possibilies?

They will probably settle of 50/50 liability and your own insurance will cover you.

You know Wizz, I was thinking the exact same thing. Just find one that costs less than your deductible and you're golden.

It's your fault. You hit her. Deal with it.
Edit your post. You said she went first. So how did she strike you? You sound like a fricking liar.

I pulled up first, was turning left through the intersection. The other driver pulled up second, and was going straight. I turned left, and was struck on the front passenger side fender. And fwiw, poor trolling.

This one and a microSD flash card is all you need. Mine has already paid for itself.

Your insurance will probably be pissed at you because you are supposed to do everything in your power to avoid an accident, even if the other drive is effing up.
I've seen plenty of times where people will either sit at a 4-way stop for a long time thinking the other is going, or a bunch of start stops when they're not sure who is going. But I can't say I've ever encountered a situation where two people arrive at a 4-way, come to a stop, and then just proceed to take off and ram each other

You seem extremely angry in most threads I read.

By any chance does that also work when recording from inside an AC vent in a bedroom dimly lit?

I had a similar situation, only about 100 times more absurd, and with no witnesses the cop said there was nothing he could do about our conflicting stories.
I was turning right, into my driveway, almost fully in. A truck clips me on the right rear, and I go spinning into my driveway.
Cops come, I say exactly what happened. The other guy apparently says I was parked directly across the street in the grass from my driveway, and at the last second I hit the gas to go across the street and into my driveway, and he had no time to stop before he hit me.
I'll preface this by saying by no means am I a badass. I don't look menacing. I'm a super calm, mild demeanor guy, so this isn't a look how hard I am moment. But when the cop came back to me and told me that's what he said, and he wasn't getting a ticket(and I realize I'm out $500 on a deductible), the cop legit had to hold me back physically for about 1 minute, as I completely lost my mind in an attempt to go after him. I guess the cop figured he knew the dude's story was BS but there was nothing he could do, so he let my anger slide and just let me vent while he held me back.
Pretty funny thinking back on it...except being $500 poorer.

No, but it will stop a driver from successfully claiming you rear-ended her after she sideswipe hid-and-ran on you like so:

Make up your mind before you call your insurance company. And you were making a left. You are fricked.
