Never respected his ability when he had the Big 3. With no Lebron and Bosh around, he's still got Miami in good position. Definitely have gained a lot of respect for his coaching ability in the last couple of years.

He will continue to be perpetually shite on despite the fact that the NBA is the most difficult of major sports in the US to build a strong team. It requires 2-3 big name players and a deep bench, but certain coaches don't get the benefit of the doubt when they have those players, while certain coaches do.

Probably. There aren't many great NBA coaches currently

Their ball movement has been on point

The guy clearly has a great basketball mind. That is obvious from the fact that Riley respects him so much. I think he is probably improving when it comes to dealing with egos and such. And I'm not sure any coach can actually deal with LeBron. That guy would try to get Popovich fired.

That list of head coaches who have won consecutive titles is short, and nobody got on it accidentally.

I mean he just won a playoff game with Justice Winslow ay Center. I don't think he's Top 5, but he right there. I'd go: Kerr, Pop, Carlisle,
ETA: damn, maybe he is a Top 5 coach I can't name 2 other coaches better than him

Dude trotted out Justise Winslow at C tonight. What a beast.

Right now there's a top two. Kerr and Pop. Then you have the next guys making names from themselves like Stotts, Spo, Thibs, Bud etc. and then the young guy that can reach that top tier in a very short amount of time in Stevens.
I'd go 1a and b as Kerr and Pop. Then Carlisle as the third guy. The next two I'd go Stotts and Spo with Stevens sitting at 6. Curious to see what Carlisle does when Dallas finally embraces the rebuild instead of duct taping their team together to get the 7 seed.

Clearly underrated.

I think he is.
I respect the frick out of him for rising from the ranks of a video guy to NBA champion.
