wow
this is like that case with the somewhat hot chick up in max's part of Louisiana

So if this guy hadn't had a drop but was still driving 118 MPH (allegedly) would that make him any less culpable.
I struggle with the extent to which what are, ultimately, accidents, should be charged criminally.
And what happens in a lot of these, if the perp has means, he makes big civil settlement with the victim's family and the vic's family goes asks DA to go easy criminally.

guess they feel he is a non violent criminal, and not really a flight risk given his condition?
idk

Those cars are extremely stout. I haven't seen any pics (nor do I want to), but I assume the passenger side took the impact.

flight risk is the main component but that's still a low arse bond, at least for here (we're much harsher than Nola so i could be off)

they said he was ejected from the car, and she was "crushed"

I assume they pulled the car's data recorder for this information?
Or hired an accident reconstruction expert

i imagine they just pulled the black box

This whole thing is a tragedy. What supprizes me most is this gets 480+ replies and the epidemic of poverty and violence in every major metropolitan area in the country is largely ignored on a daily basis.

my prediction... 20 years

how many suspended?
if i had to guess. if it looks bad for him, he pleads to negligent homicide and has to do 3-5 years
but if this case becomes political? who knows
his criminal history, if any, will probably be big

I bet he gets no time. His attorney will claim he suffers from "Affluenza". Wait for it.
