I'm not arguing, but the guy that throws the 70 mph knuckle curve is fun to watch too.

Interesting what pitching coaches can do with a guy in the minors and majors

You sir are correct Nola is goat. I took my kids to a Mobile Bay Bears game and was bored out of my mind because nobody could hit the other teams pitcher. About the 5th inning I noticed Nola was on the mound for the other team and that explained why there was no offense. About 2-3 weeks later Nola was on tv pitching in the majors. That guy is spectacular.

Aaron Nola was extraordinary at LSU. He got better each year.

Aaron Nola will be the best baseball player to come out of LSU if he isn't already. Talking about looking at college and pro career combined

Have you ever heard of Clayton kershaw?

No. Who's that? Sounds like a tool.

It is arguably top 5. Very filthy

I was able to watch Greg Maddox many times while living in Atlanta. Nola seems to have that type of command and the mental toughness that made Maddox so special. I think Nola may be headed in that direction.

Maddux. But your point remains. Nola has more velocity in his arsenal. Great baseball name too!

Sportscenter (Stan Verrett) mentioned yesterday that when Nola throws his curveball, hitters have a .059 batting average (against his curveball) so far this year.

He can spin it with the best of em. One thing I noticed immediately his freshman year, is how loose his arm is. He gets great arm action at different slots because he is so fluid and loose, and not all torqued up.

He's been awesome. Hate the Phillies but their rebuild seems ahead of schedule with the way their young pitchers are throwing.

I read that piece. His curve is disgusting, I just hope his fastball keeps up the pace and his change up develops into a dangerous pitch.
Fangraphs is very iffy on players who went through the college ranks, so praise like that is pretty damn high. It's probably my favorite baseball website, but they almost always attach the "high floor/low ceiling" moniker to them.

You have obviously never seen Clayton Kershaw throw a curve...

Did you even read the article? It gives analysis on why his curve is the best.

So let’s say this: I don’t know if Aaron Nola‘s “true-talent” curveball is the best in the game. What I know is, to this point, it’s been the most effective curveball in the game. By lots!

Jake Arrieta has a pretty good curve too. His results over his last 25 starts have been among the best in history.
