I think Jeepfreak very wisely and classily backed off on the promotion of the event in the tread, so that it would stay viable on here. It's pretty obvious that management wouldn't sit here and keep letting someone advertise for free. Jeepfreak did a great job on all accounts, with that in mind.

Hmm. Ok?

And yes, I am pointing out the fact that food board foodies in general neither supported the event, nor participated, with the exception of Otis, Bossfloss, and a few others that so kindly donated. I get it, though, if it's not closed for the clique, and "outsiders" are there to taste and judge, it's different - i.e. your family and "friends" telling you you're a good cook.

There were graduations this weekend, Opus Vert release at Parish, and whatever else people have going on.

That second part is just ridiculous. You think people avoided the event because of a fear of cooking for strangers? Lol jeez.

We make a mean jambalaya but I dont have a rig like they are using to cook massive quantities for an event like this. I doubt many people do.

Why is friends in quotation marks?

Opus Vert release ?? The release of a beer ? Really? Come on.That's weak sauce. and everyone didn't graduate on Saturday. Just a bunch of lame excuses to avoid putting their money where their mouth is. I think a lot of these dudes avoided cooking out of fear that their shite wouldn't pass muster beyond the clique. Just my opinion. You have yours.

That had over 1000 people there?
Or Gnarley Barley which had another 700+ according to what they posted....

No but ULM, LSU, and others had their commencement on the same day that eliminated a lot of friends and family from attending...

Spaces between the punctuation and overuse of ellipses. I was right. Hi Rag.

But yes, a huge % of this board are the beer folks. Beyond that, many don't live in Baton Rouge. Combine that with graduation and people with other plans, I don't know why you're so angry few showed up. It wasn't some deep reason. Me personally -- I wanted to go bowling and have a BBQ at home instead of drive 30 minutes for a food I only mildly like.

Nice editing out your punctuation

I should actually have said "grill" because it wasn't BBQ. Grilled cedar-wrap salmon, Asian glazed shrimp, eggplant with African seasoning from RSS, pesto marinated zucchini, Cajun marinated yellow squash, green onion pork sausage

I see on the boards that she's a fighter, drinker, and imaginative chef. This is fascinating. When does she post recipes. She sounds legit.
