As I've mentioned before, I have a quite large cookbook collection. Well, I'm looking to pare down a bit, so I would be willing to contribute 12 - 20 cookbooks to be raffled or otherwise given as prizes.
Books already in the pile include 2 of Emeril's books, Jack Daniel's Cookbook, Frank Davis Seafood Notebook, TV's "Chopped" cookbook, Napoleon House, Great Sausage Recipes by Rytek Kutas, a couple of sushi cookbooks, Plantation Celebrations by John Folse and I Want Dat Cajun Cookbook by Remy. Let me know if y'all are interested and I'll pick out some more. Hopefully the logistics of a drawing can be worked out.

I'd encourage everybody to wear their screen name as a name tag, so we know who we're talking to and who we need to punch in the nose.

What are they releasing that day?
We thought about asking Andrew if he wanted to be a celebrity judge.

If enough of y'all politely ask; maybe this will get a sticky.

I wish I was still in BR. Id love to participate in this with my father and brothers.
I'll have to send them out there to partake in the crowd to report to me what the competition is like for next year!

Chicken has already said he won't support it and doesn't want it advertised on here. Bringing any more attention will probably resort in the thread getting whacked.

He didn't want Tigerdroppings name attached to it, and it's not.
Its not really advertising if it's a not for profit event?

I saw that too. These dudes just need to take a hint. Big Heads comes off looking like they're using this event to grand stand for free advertising. "Schwag" from Mockler? You mean the same Bud Light coozies they give every bar client they have? Is that a "Corp Sponsor"? LOL
Posted on 5/1/16 at 3:39 pm to heypaul
So everyone having a "non-profit" event should run on here and advertise it? Pimp it at Big Heads. On here, BH comes off as using this for free advertising. That would be for profit. Starting this thread is dumb.

My nose couldn't withstand that kind of punishment.

Y'all went about it all wrong with that We beer folks never asked permission for the FBD jamboree and it's been going for years now. Of course, we don't open it up to non-posters either so there's no risk of using the site's name for a public event.

Yep .. Why would these guys (Tigerdroppings) stick their names on this? If someone gets drunk, drives off and something happens, these guys could get sued. They're charging $20 a head for an entry fee? So they raise $500 for charity while Big Heads pulls in $2K plus in booze sales with priceless free advertising? Sounds like a not-for-profit that this website should embrace!
