Is a pro team in Europe feasible?

The NBA and NFL have been playing games in London for several years now, NBA also plays games in other European cities and the NFL is going to start playing games in Germany starting in 2018. With that said is it feasible to have a franchise from either or both leagues in Europe by the end of the next 10 years? If not why not?

the team would move back to the USA within 5 years.

I think you'd need an entire division in Europe which would make logistics easier for the team(s) over there. Also US teams could go over, play the 2 away games from the Euro division in back to back weeks and come back. The Euro division and the rest of the home games would account for the majority of the Euro team's games. You could have the Euro teams come over and play back to back weeks stateside and then head back, could probably work in their byes after a US trip (same for the US teams going over there). Everyone talks about London being the destination but if I recall NFL Europe was biggest in Germany by a good bit.

No way. A logistical nightmare. It costs plenty money to fly across the pond besides the team and equipment. The NFL will never ever be in Europe. That's a pipe dream

Didn't people say going to the moon was farfetched?

Just doesn't make logistical sense. It'd be mad expensive and just wind up being a money pit for the league.
Not to mention they'd have to change the name to the IFL and that just doesn't have the same feel

100 years from now, can you imagine an NBA with 30 teams in the US and 30 teams spread across Europe? Instead of East/West you have a Finals matching the the North American vs European Conference winner. It's a long shot and won't happen in our lifetimes. But it would be cool to have a truly international sports league.

Can you imagine being injured and having to travel 6+ hours via plane?

Nevermind

Right?
It still blows my mind that Europe just doesn't have healthcare facilities.

We don't go to the moon and back several times a month either

I think there would be a real challenge finding players that would want to play on a European team. Taxes would be higher so they'd make less money. They'd be living in Europe and not the US. I think players would refuse to go there to play.
Fan support would be there though.

Yup, key to the whole thing.

FA would refuse to play for those teams

It's not happening. The moon landing was a Hollywood stunt lol

Europe team could never host a Thursday, Sunday, or Monday night game unless they put it on tape delay. I can't imagine kicking off a game at 2am local time to fill the MNF time slot.

Pay me millions of pounds and let me live in London and I would never come back.

The NFL usually comes close to selling out most games in London, but a majority of those attending are US expatriates.
I just don't see how the NFL survives in a country where it would be viewed as a 3rd tier sport. Behind soccer, rugby, cricket, and racing.

Man some of you guys are clueless.
Bill Barnwell, writing for Grantland in 2013, wrote an extensive look into the problems surrounding a potential NFL team based in England.
It's just not feasible

How long does it take to fly from LA to NYC or Boston? Seattle to Miami?
