Taking a vote on what you wear with athletic shorts. I was thinking these kids with basketball shorts and tube socks pulled up to mid calf level look like my granddad, but maybe I'm the grandad looking guy now with he ankle socks (no show). Also I suspect a correlation between flat bill hats/tube socks, and curved bill hats/ankle socks.

I only wear regular socks with boots. Other times it's the socks lower than ankle socks, can't really see them with shoes.

I see all my friends kids wearing the athletic socks up to practically their knees nowadays. These are not products of trashy parents either. We're talking kids that go to Newman and Stuart Hall etc.

I still wear no shows with my running shoes. Maybe we are the old fogies

Dude, you have way too much time on your hands to ponder this.
And no tube socks.

Whenever I see groups of college aged guys wearing hiked up tube socks, I feel like Channing Tatum in 21 Jump Street when he goes back to high school and finds out that all the stuff that used to be considered nerdy is now cool.

Depends on the shoe. If I'm wearing one of my pairs of $600 Jordans then of course I wear tube socks. With regular tennis shoes it's no show socks

Usually black tubes if I'm doing anything active or wearing pants. Otherwise, I'll just wear no shows
