Anybody have one? Is there something out there better at that price point?
Will be using it mostly in the marsh around big lake

That's what I have. No complaints.
It's basically a pirouge on steroids.

Its a great starter yak. Probably the best bang for your buck if you want to buy new. It has a few quality issues. The bracket that holds the seat from shifting side to side usually bends or breaks. The circular hatch is useless. Some people have had issues with leakage at the seams of the scupper holes, but this can be fixed with some silicon.
If I had to start over, I would probably buy a used Jackson or Wilderness Systems yak

For a brand new kayak, I say no. I was hoping the new Pelican Catch 120 would be within $50 or so but it's not. The FS12T might be the best bang for your buck brand new kayak you can buy.
The Good:
*Great seat for the price, just as comfortable as the seats in my Native Slayer and Jackson Cuda
*Wide and stable, can stand in it pretty easily, and it even tracks decent.
The Bad:
*The plastic is a softer/lesser quality plastic than a more expensive name brand kayak, wasn't a huge deal but this allowed the deck to flex when I stood up. I've been told that they've corrected this on the 2016+ models
*The two little tits that the seat sat in the track with bent over time, not bad or inoperable, just enough to make it a bit of pain in the arse to remove/install the seat.
*Leaky. The circular hatch was pretty much useless to keep things dry so I had started putting keys/wallet/phone in a pelican case. The scupper holes are the biggest issue. The top/bottom molds don't quite line up from the factory and this is apparent in the scupper holes as you can get tiny gaps that allow water to leak into the holes. Common problem with all of them, I siliconed mine and didn't have an issue again.
Overall they're decent for what you get and I have no problem recommending them to someone just starting out. The biggest issues with them can be addressed and taken care of pretty easily. The good thing about them being so cheap is that they don't really loose a ton of value. I sold mine for $575 within a couple days when I decided to get rid of it.

New? Probably not for $600. Pelican does have a new yak with a nicer seat for $550 ( Pelican Enforcer 120x), and you WILL be able to stand and fish from it. (See LINK)
If you're able to be patient and push your budget up some, I would wait and find a used Native Ultimate, Jackson Cuda, Old Town Predator, Wilderness Systems Ride, or another higher end kayak that someone is unloading. For $800 you can likely find one with a decent paddle in very good shape which is probably about what you'll end up spending for the FS12T plus paddle ($600 + $60 tax + $100-150 paddle)
ETA: Based on this YouTube video ( LINK) you CAN stand and fish in the Enforcer.

If he's trying to keep the price down, a $25 paddle works just as good.

Did you post it all over the world like I told you? I know the answer because I check Craigslist every morning looking for shite.

I just bought a 2016 FS12T this year and Im a beginner aswell. From what I can tell, this one is extremely dry, fairly easy to stand up in, still working on that Like others said, seat is very comfortable for fishing 4-5hrs. Ive used it 5-6x this year and Im still learning something different everytime. I feel like I made a good purchase and now the wife is after me to buy her one. She has zero trouble loading and unloading FWIW. Hope this helps

I used to be in this camp....until my cheaper paddle snapped in half paddling back to the launch in Delacroix. Lsuson can testify to that, he was there.
Bought a bending branches paddle and immediately saw a difference. Plus it was lighter.

I'm sure the BB is better, but if I'm giving advice to a novice kayaker, I'm not going to tell him to get a $150 paddle.
I have the BB Scout (I think that's what it's called) but I leave it at the house. I take the $25 NoLimit.

I have the fs12t. I've had it for almost 2 years now. I think i'm the only one that never had the scupper issue. The dry storage is useless as stated, unless you want to use it as a cup holder. I don't take my seat out, so if you don't have to, then don't because as stated, the warping can make it a pain to put back in. I can stand in it and I'm about to start night bow fishing from it. Overall I'm very pleased for the price I paid. My next kayak (in a couple years) will probably be a jackson tandem, because my son will be getting to the age where I'll want to start taking him. Unless Ascend comes out with a tandem. But I'll keep my fs12t and my older fs12.

Just sold my FS12T. Loved the yak it was just a little difficult for me to load by myself on top of the rack on my car.
Pros
stable
plenty of room for storage
cons
heavy
circular hatch IS NOT water proof

Just purchased the 2016 fs12t. I haven't had any issues with the scupper holes leaking. The floor does flex some but nothing some foam inserts can't fix. I figure if I like using it enough I'll upgrade to a hobie down the road. I used a website called raise and was able to buy a $500 gift card for $429.
