I've had several of their menu items during my visits. Crawfish Etouffee, Shrimp n Grits, Boudin Omelet, Red beans & rice, Duck Gumbo & a few of their different sandwiches.

The omelet was ok, shrimp n grits weren't very good, etouffee wasn't very good. Sandwiches were just meh, duck gumbo has a bit of a sweetness to it that I don't like, and the red beans are inconsistent. The red beans went from being pretty good on one visit, to way too spicy on the next. I guess I just need to stick with the cheese fries, those are good.

I've never been to the East.
Campus and Covington are both solid.

Lots of places...To name a few.

Jasmine's has a few tasty menu items.
Dempsey's has good fried seafood.
La Madeleine
Zea
City Pork (Hollydale)
Ruffinos
La Lagniappe
etc...

Give me your extended version, smart arse.

Skillet, I just enjoyed your post on the rant about Miles new hires,, especially Fred Wilson and Jabarri Jabarri.

When the OP threatened posters to down vote, I figured silliness deserved more silliness.

More praise for Chimes East.

My top picks for char-grilled oysters that I've tried lately.

#1 Chimes--very good
#2 City Cafe---a little too pungent, but still very good
#3 Acme---pretty tasty
Shucks---meh
Jones Creek Cafe---not good at all

On an aside, there's a phone app called Nextdoor that seems to be pretty popular. And for the White Oak, Tiger Bend, Hickory Ridge, Shenandoah area, etc. locations, there's a person blasting City Cafe for an experience they had there. It's a good read for those of you that have the app and are in that area of town.

I always get the wings or grilled chicken salad on romaine w/blue cheese and Italian dressings on the side. Mix the Blue cheese and Italian dressings.. It's awesome.
