I mean this guy gets it... What every other man in America may see as the hunting truck or work truck, this guy says no sir, it's a family wagon. As long as the ac blows ice cold, rite brah?

Porsche´s Macan is everything the Q5 wants to be, but in the big boy class, bang for your buck this year (although still pricey in my opinion) is the XC90. You and I have already had this conversation, it´s superior to the Cayenne and the Q7.
Holy crap that is funny. The XC90 is the worst vehicle I've ever owned by far. It is no where near being in the same class as a Cayenne or Q7. Not even close. By a long shot.
The Cayenne is a very nice vehicle, but vastly underpowered - far too slow for the price. If you can afford a Cayenne S, then it's the one to get. If not, I'd go Q7 over standard Cayenne. The Macan (and especially Macan Turbo) are hella-fast, but it's pretty small.

Spoken by the Jaguar owner.
If you believe company can shake their past...
ETA: Fast isn't all about acceleration.

I don't really care about Jag's rep. I've bought 5 cars in the past 6 years, so I don't really keep hem long enough to worry about problems. And acceleration is a lot more important than top end.

I'm talking about handling...being fast at 60 or 80, or from 60 to 80 with a maneuver in there somewhere.
Make no mistake, I'm sure your Jag would make me smile doing that.
You didn't buy the most reliable brand out there, that was my immediate point.

When I was getting a new car a while back I tried out a bunch of the nicer SUVs and CUVs.
Lincoln MKC, MKX, and Navigator
Lexus RX
Toyota Land Cruiser
Audi Q3, Q5, and Q7
BMW X3 and X5
Volkswagen Tiguan and Touareg
Acura RDX and MDX
Land Rover Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Discovery Sport
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Lexus and Toyota left me with a really blah feeling. The Acuras were the blandest of the bunch. I hated the way the Tiguan drove. The Lincolns were ok but I felt like I'd be better off getting their maxed out Ford counterparts if I was to go that route and to be perfectly honest, they weren't as nice to drive as the 97 Explorer I used to have and in some ways actually felt worse.
The Land Rovers were really nice but the people at their dealership were assholes so I never seriously considered getting one. Both of my parents have had them at different times over the years though and they are very cool cars (reliability wasn't an issue but the rents were never happy w/their service dept). Same goes for the people at BMW. Great cars but they are huge assholes who I absolutely hated dealing with when I had a 3 series.
At the top of the list for me were the Volkswagen Touareg and the Audi Q5. The VW was surprisingly nice and had my favorite interior after the Land Rovers. The Audis were also pretty sweet but they felt a bit more like city cars that can better handle occasional shite weather and I go to Colorado enough that I wanted a bit more capability.
In the end, I went with a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. IMO the Jeep GC at the Overland to SRT trims the closest thing you can get to an American version of a Land Rover when it comes to capability combined with the bells and whistles. It drives very well both on and off road and has quite a few cool features. Due to their popularity its also a hell of a lot easier to find mechanics that can work on them for a reasonable price.
After owning it for about 8 months I'm extremely pleased with it and will absolutely look into getting the Grand Wagoneer if/when it comes out.

That Lexus front grill on most of their models is as ugly as has ever been made IMO.

You are a good guy, but your car knowledge is extremely dated.
As I indicated in my earlier post, Ford changed everything.
Here is a link from 2009 regarding Jaguar's quality:
LINK
Jaguar has continued to excel in quality surveys since then.
ETA: Just looked at some current (2015) data. JD Power has Jaguar and BMW tied in quality categories.

Range Rovers are some of the worst built cars on the planet. shite will be breaking left and right and cost a fortune to fix. Buy one if you want but you'll be buying a piece of shite and you will look like a douche bag to boot. I would get an Enclave; they have everything all these other cars have and drive great. My recently got a highlander and they are great too but we almost got the Enclave instead. Her call, not mine.
