The Maserati Levante comes out in the USA in September. It's base price is $83k. With bells and whistles it shouldn't be more than $115K which is less than a Cayenne Turbo S or Rover Autobiography or Rover Sport SVR. But like someone else mentioned, I'm not sure if I want to spend that kind of money on a first year model. It has a sweet look to it though! Not sure I want to wait until September anyway.

True, at least 3 dealerships in DFW. It's the soccer mom car of choice, I have 4 different neighbors with them. That's not a knock on them, they are nice.

Had a friend with a County lwb when I was younger, and it was a sick ride. The new supercharged offerings barely compare in class in my opinion. I'm sure they're nice, but just not the same.

The squint eyes are cool for sure. Their designers hit the timeless style on point.

Porsche´s Macan is everything the Q5 wants to be, but in the big boy class, bang for your buck this year (although still pricey in my opinion) is the XC90.

You and I have already had this conversation, it´s superior to the Cayenne and the Q7.

The XC90 inscription package does look cool, but when they first came out, they were having some problems. That vehicle went the longest in history without a production change. I think like 13 years. It has some unique characteristics, but the Swedish make the infotainment a little complicated. If your budget is above 100k, it will be a little underwhelming.

I think luxury SUVs are for fat/old people. Get a sports sedan until you can't bend down to get in one.

I LOVE over engineered vehicles, so I can understand why, I just can't get all the way there yet. I'm way more 911 than I am Range Rover, but a two door won't work for me. An over engineered German sedan is where it'll be for me until I can afford to have a bucket seat.

I drive a manual truck, so yea.

Yeah LR and MB are very much the predominant vehicles in DFW. But I noticed a lack of RR and RR sport in the uptown/ Mckinney Ave area. Guess they're considered a rugged off road SUV, and the city folk love some sport cars.

I did an off road experience in a full size Rover with slick tires at the Biltmore Estate, and I was absolutely sold on it as a utilitarian vehicle.

Do they consider your LR3 a Disco, or is there another term?

Ford definitely hired the right designer for those.

I drive truck in the overland vein as well, except it has a clutch and stick.

In Europe they call it the Discovery 3. Here it's just a LR3. I drive it daily and love it. No technology, just the way I like my vehicle

I like me a Toyota truck now

If it helps...

I drove the all new 2017 Audi Q7 for about 9 days and put over 1000 miles on it a couple weeks ago. It was a loaner while mine was in service.

The Q7 was totally redesigned inside and out. The new model hit the streets about 3 months ago. I am not an SUV guy, but I gotta say, after a week on this thing, I could be turned. It was pretty darn nice. It also had some get up and go...333 hp I believe.

The night time interior lighting in this thing was beautiful.

Nicely equipped, it runs about $80k. If you want performance to go with it, Audi is introducing the "S" version--the SQ7 in the beginning of 2017--it should be in the 450 hp range and around $100k nicely equipped.

Good luck in the hunt.

It's a great looking, and even more capable than mine, rig. I can throw paint cans, crab traps, camping gear for two weeks, enough tools to build a theatre set...you name it, in the back of mine though...and I love pedaling the gears.

The only one of the ones you listed that would be in the same class as a Maserati would be a G Wagon from Mercedes.

That's not true

That's my top end budget. If I can get everything I want for less than that is even better. But i have that money to pay in full if what I want costs that much. Trust me, I hope the one that wins out is under that.

Go with something that puts money back into the heart of the country you live in. This reason and this reason alone makes me start with Chevrolet.
My wife has a new Tahoe ltz
And I drive a new GMC Denali truck

Some of these on yalls list are awesome pieces of machinery, but doesn't warrant spending an extra 30k
Say what you will about luxury this and that, but in the mid 60s- low 70s, what we drive isn't exactly a ford pinto
