I understand it's baseball and crazy things happen, but losing 3 mid-week games this year, all in embarrassing fashion against Lamar, Tulane, and McNesse State, doesn't look good for us. Lamar game we absolutely choke, and the Tulane and McNesse State games looked like we didn't show up. Hope they pick it up this weekend against Missouri.

Missouri lost 16-0 to Missouri State and Kennesaw (Spelling?) State beat Auburn tonight. It's baseball. Even the crappest teams in the majors beat the best ones every once in awhile. We are fine. RPI was 19. It will take a little hit. We got two top five teams on the schedule still. We win during the weekends and don't lose too many more during the week and we will be fine.

I thought I heard on the broadcast today that Missouri St is ranked 16th.

Dropping midweek games during the course of a season is definitely not a "crazy" occurrence. Even the championship level teams lost some of these games.

2009 lost to Nicholls I believe.

This did look like a bit of an arse kicking and Tulane was probably the worst I've ever seen an LSU team play.

whatever

I think our mid week loses are good examples of us being young. This team is talented but they don't have the mentality to be a great team this year. Once they realize they have a target on their backs and nothing will be handed to them they will start playing like a 10 team.

I am sorry but midweek games aren't meaningless for power conferences but they are pretty close to it. If they were teams wouldn't throw their fourth or fifth guy out there. The only thing that matters in college baseball is what you do in your conference. LSU needs to get to probably 16-18 in conference wins to be in the discussion to host a regional. Then maybe these mid week games will come into play if they are a bubble host team against another team.

Bad team, bad coaching staff. But don't worry, the pumpers will be in here before long time to say how this loss isn't a big deal.

It's not THAT we lost to these teams but HOW.

Sure you are experimenting with some non-weekend pitchers so you may give up some runs...understandable.

What's less understandable is that in those 3 games we couldn't hit ourselves out of a wet paper bag with regular starting lineup.
