Folks may not want to turn this into a political thing, but take a look around. Mitch worrying about statues while a fricking former Saints star player is getting gunned down in the streets over an accident altercation. New Orleans has never been the safest city in parts but the rap sheet on this place will never change if the leaders aren't willing to do what it takes. Clean this fricking city up.

Is there a reason you are being ignorant? Cleaning up the streets would not have prevented this... this was not a gangbanger situation. This was a wrong time, wrong place, horrible situation.... but continue

You could extrapolate it to say these guys felt the need to carry guns because of the state the city is in. If you clean it up, make it safer, then less people carry guns where stupid shite like this happens. It is also a cultural thing that can shift if people feel safer. The need to act hard and all that dimnishes.

Apparently a lot of witnesses to the crime as well as Smith's vehicle hit the one in front.

This is all kinds of fricked up. And at 34? That's just too young. Prayers to the family. I'll never forget Will Smith's impact on both the 2009 season and his pressure on the pick six that lead to our first super bowl. May he rest in peace.

Blows my mind the dude in the Hummer is the one causing the entire incident, yet was offended enough (or drunk/high enough) to shoot the passengers in the vehicle HE hit. Insane.
