Bingo.. Mike Trout/Bryce Harper is the perfect example. His worth to the franchise is unreal. Why would a PA agree to a capped system? Before you say collective averages. Shouldn't they be paid what they are worth? Don't you think Lebron would like his incredibly high number and not be capped?

Plus, the teams that just spend it all in baseball aren't guaranteed to win it all anymore. The Dodgers/Angels are throwing out crazy contracts to people and aren't getting it done. Advanced Scouting/development is evening the playing field

LOL. The players and the owners would never agree to that agreement. The owners aren't giving up two years of team control along with one pre-arbitration year to players and the players will never agree to a soft cap. Any decent player who hits free agency will end up making less money. Mike Leake got an $80 million contract from the Cardinals and Jeff Samardzijia got $90 million from the Giants. Leake has a career ERA+ of 100 and Samardzijia's career ERA+ is 96. They are both literally average to below average pitchers and they got $16-18 million a year on the open market. So explain to me how hitting free agency two years earlier with a soft cap in place would benefit players.
