You know what a 4-0 victory against Guatemala means?

Nothing.
The fact that this game was important is embarrassing. The fact that we didn't qualify for the Olympics is embarrassing.
You want to be the head coach and the technical director? How about doing one of those things well?
El Salvador and Honduras have outperformed our U23s.
Trinidad & Tobago is outperforming our full national team.
We suck from the ground up and that's because we let a narcissist who's in over his head have 100% control over our country's soccer program.
frick you Sunil Gulati and frick you Jurgen Klinsmann. Go jerk each other off somewhere and stop fricking up our team.
American Outlaws need to show some fricking balls with a Gulati Out tifo or something.
Yeah, I'm mad.

I'm just periodically going to add things that make me mad.
Plus our U23s played like Central American thugs on top of it all. You can't be fricking terrible and unlikeable.
This is why I don't watch these shitty fricking teams much anymore.

Before, I've always argued in what ways Jurgen's tenure has been better than Bruce or Bob
Now, I'm starting to wonder in what way has Jurgen's tenure been even with Bob or Bruce.
You're the technical director and the u-23's miss out on the Olympics both times? frick that.

100% Agreed ....
And how the frick did Gulati ever get to the head of USSF anyway?

from a technical standpoint, the game in Dallas was infinitely more important tonight. what a fricking flop. I'm embarrassed
at least Pulisic got capped.

I can't disagree with this post...but we did look solid tonight. Granted, we SHOULD look solid against Guatemala but this was our most complete performance in a while IMO. I'm happy about that.
That being said, I still agree with what LD said this morning. Jurgen has a vision and it is a really good one...for a technical director. Coaching is obviously suspect but I like most of the changes he has pushed for.

If Klinsmann wasn't in over his head, we could have had guys like Yedlin and Pulisic playing for the U-23 team but the technical director had to pull up those guys to save the coach's job.

I have been moderate when it comes to jurgen. I have defended him on this forum. I even think that this cycle has mirrored many other WCQF cycles before for the USMNT. I dont think he is a terrible manager, I dont think he is exceptional either. It is probably time for him to go next cycle regardless.
What I cant accept is the regression in our youth national team ranks. I hear people talk about Jurgen stepping down and taking over the technical director role and that frightens me far more than him steering the inevitable ship barely escaping the group for the US in the next WC. This man has no real understandings of the unique nature and dynamic at play ion the youth ranks. He talks about culture change but does nothing at the grass roots to facilitate that change.
frick it. Momentum is being lost for this sport in the US and its pretty frustrating.

He's a FIFA-level bureaucrat. He got there by being able to do bureaucrat things

It means 3 points and us being closer to actually making it to the Hex.
